Meet the Experts
When did you start at Gateway Market?
What are your hobbies?
I enjoy attending group fitness classes, reading magazines, binge-watching TV series on Netflix and Hulu and enjoying all the great entertainment options in Des Moines (Science Center, Farmers’ Market, bike trails, various community festivals and parades, Jordan Creek Mall, Botanical Gardens, the Riverwalk, etc.) with my husband and two daughters.
Why do you recommend people shop local?
People should shop local so the money they are spending gets reinvested right here in their own community.
What’s the best dish you’ve had at an event?
My favorites from Gateway Market would be our delightful triple chocolate cookie, the Cranberry Walnut Salad and ratatouille!
What is one piece of advice you have for someone who is catering an event or get-together?
Whenever possible, try to get RSVPs! And always have a plan for inclement weather when planning outdoor events. We live in Iowa, you never know what the weather will be like!
